Inspired both by the natural world
and by civilization, the MATIS by Lucian Matis Fall/Winter 2013 collection
contrasted wild, animal and floral prints, and bold, nature-inspired colours
with structured city looks of plaid and monochromatic cable wool in what was
one of World MasterCard Fashion Week’s most visually dynamic collections.
The theme of two worlds colliding
made for a stellar presentation of stark juxtapositions, allowing for multiple
pieces in the lineup to standout from the rest as show-stealers, while the
creative use of jewel tones and spring hues offered an unexpected surprise for
a Fall/Winter show that was applauded by an admiring audience.
